Think of your blog as the water cooler at work where everybody comes and chats about stuff. Treat your blog the same way. Talk about your daily activities, how excited you are about your business, the good things that are happening in your business and so forth. Doing this on a consistent basis and going to other peoples blogs and leaving comments will increase your traffic and help you get more backlinks to your blog. If you read a good post, tweet it out, let others know about it.
Use your blog like a capture page and put a optin box in at the bottom of your post. If they like what you wrote chances are they might opt in and you get another lead. The more leads you have the better. Your list is the greatest asset you will ever posses . As your list grows and you are building a relationship with them, the more customers you will come across. Always provide value to your list, things they can use to help them do the same thing. Over time as your list grows you will have more chances of making money from it.
